Lemon cake and poppy seeds

Ingredients:
 
1 cup softened butter
1½ - of sugar
2 eggs
2- tablespoons of lemon or orange peel
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2½ cups flour
1 tablespoon of poppy seeds
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
½ teaspoon of salt
1½- buttermilk

For icing:
1½ cup icing sugar
2- tablespoons of lemon juice

Preparation:

  1. Use two bowls a large and a small.
  2. In the bigger one, add and beat the butter and sugar.
  3. Add one by one the eggs by beating after each addition,
  4. add lemon zest and vanilla and set aside.
  5. In the other bowl, mix the flour, poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  6. First, use 1/3 of the flour mixture with the sugar / butter mixture of the other bowl
  7. Alternate the preparations in 3 times by alternating 2 times with the buttermilk.
  8. Bake in a floured crown mold at 325°F for about 55 minutes.
  9. When cooled, unmold and pour and let penetrate the frosting.
